Safety and Security

The following crimes were reported in Providence Plantation from September 1 to November 30.

Crimes Reported Sept. Oct. Nov. Total
Assault – Non-Aggravated     1 1
Burglary – Residential 1 1
Fraud 1   1
Larceny – Other 1 1
Total Crimes Reported 1 2 1 4

I am happy to report that this a 76% decrease in crime when compared to the same period last year when 17 crimes were reported. In the burglary, the homeowners discovered artwork missing that was near their front door during an open house the previous day. There was no signs of a forced entry. The assault involved family members.

Our homeowners association uses Constant Contact to email three of our four quarterly newsletters, reunite lost/found pets with their owners and to notify residents of crime/safety alerts.

It is important to report all incidents of crime to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. The police would rather respond to a false alarm, than not respond and have a crime committed. For crimes in progress and other emergencies, dial 911.  For non-emergencies, and past crimes, call 311.  You can also report the following past crimes using the Online Reporting System; Larceny, Harassing Phone Calls, Theft from Auto, or Property Damage. You can do so at: or from a link at

Also, please notify me at or call 849-9234, between 9am and 9pm.

Best wishes for a happy, healthy and safe New Year.
