PROVIDENCE PLANTATION PAPER SHREDDING EVENT:
It’s so difficult to get rid of sensitive financial documents safely, especially after the build up of papers left over after filing your tax return. To help residents get rid of those documents safely, on May 18, the PPHOA Socials sponsored a paper shredding event for all Providence Plantation residents. Shredding was free for PPHOA members, and available at a nominal charge for non-HOA residents of Providence Plantation. All costs of hiring PROSHRED were paid by the HOA, and HOA Board members Bob Hayes, Harvey Katowitz, Bruce Kantor and Paul Wickham volunteered their time to unload residents’ boxes of papers and deliver them to the PROSHRED Truck, so that homeowners did not need to leave their vehicles. Your HOA and the HOA Board members who volunteered their time for this event made shredding your old bank statements, tax returns and other sensitive documents simple, easy and free.
Over 30 HOA members brought boxes and bags of paper to Bee Tree Circle where our PROSHRED truck was located. The HOA plans to organize and pay the cost of additional paper shredding events in Providence Plantation in the winter or next spring.
REFLECTIVE SAFETY VESTS:
Join your neighbors and order a safety vest for each member of your family! On May 18, Socials sponsored the sale of bright colored safety vests as part of your HOA’s safety initiative. The HOA’s mission is to ensure that Providence Plantation residents who walk, run, bike, or wait for school buses are clearly visible to motorists. Many HOA members took advantage of Socials’ sale of Neon yellow Safety Vests at the PPR&S Clubhouse prior to the Pineapple Dash and at that afternoon’s Shredding Event. Safety Vests cost $10 each and are available in sizes ranging from children’s small through adults’ 4 X, with a choice of style – nylon fabric or mesh. Many thanks to HOA Socials Co-Chair Janet Pierce, her husband Dan Pierce and Carol Sue Austin who spent May 18 taking safety vest orders at both events.
Because so many Providence Plantation residents walk, run, and bike on local roads to enjoy the beauty of this area, and because those walkers, runners and bikers can increase their visibility to motorists by wearing bright colors, we urge all Providence Plantation residents to buy and wear bright colored safety vests. Ten dollars per vest is truly a modest investment in your family’s safety.
SOCIALS will take orders for safety vests at the PP-HOA annual meeting. Meeting details will be posted on the website and sent via email.
