Did you know that social activities can extend your life, improve your health, result in new skills, a wider network of friends and just plain fun? Get in on neighborhood action – join one or more of our PPHOA Social Clubs – they are open to all HOA members. If you have an idea for a club or activity that doesn’t exist yet, please send your suggestions to socials@pp-hoa.org. Be sure to include your name, email address and phone number.

Book Club

Love to read? Meet new people ? Exchange ideas? Want to try books outside your wheelhouse, gain new perspectives and have fun? Join a Providence Plantation Book Club, all of which meet in the evening.

Ladies Bunco Group

Get rolling… join the Ladies’ Bunco Group for a fast-paced game of luck. Laugh, talk, cheer each other on. Potluck food and drinks.

Men’s Hiking Group

Are you an outdoor enthusiast? Do you enjoy hiking, walking, exploring NC nature and making new friends? If so, put on your hiking boots, bring a snack and spend an hour or two with Plantation Hikers exploring a fabulous venue within 90 minutes of home. Enjoy venues such as Crowder’s Mt, McAlpine Creek Greenway and McDowell Nature Preserve. Each month, the “host” will chose a hiking venue and provide directions. Hikes will generally take place on Saturdays.

Play Groups for the Under-5 Set

Want your under-5 children to build friendships with other youngsters in the neighborhood? Want to get to know other Providence Plantation parents who have children about the same age as yours? Join one of our Providence Plantation Play Groups, each of which is limited to children of similar ages.

Providence Plantation Cookbook Project

Got an original recipe? A new twist on an old favorite? Do you have a recipe for something incredibly yummy, super fast, or the perfect finger food for wine tasting or tailgating? Share your imagination and skills to help create our own Providence Plantation Cookbook. Chapters could include: Crockpot Fabulous, Kids’ Favorites, Tailgating Treats, New Twists on Southern Favorites, etc.

Social Bridge

Welcomes all levels of bridge players. Group generally meets 7-9:30 PM on the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday (or Thursday) of the month. Each month’s host selects the week and day. 30 minute rounds. Light refreshments.

Supper Club

Sign up to join a Supper Club. Each Supper Club has 8 members (singles and couples welcome). Members of each group take turns hosting a sit-down or buffet dinner for the group, with the host providing the main course and beverage. Other members provide appetizers, dessert and a salad. Days/ dates and schedule determined by each group/host.

Wine Tasting Club

Love wine? Want to learn about new wines? Join WineTasters. Lots of ways to enjoy wine tasting: bag the wine [labels covered], sip, score and discuss, or to simply sip and comment; set a monthly wine budget with the host selecting and providing the wine or ask each member bringing a bottle to share. No matter the method, there will be light snacks, fine wines, good conversation, new friends and great fun.
